Herbs have a long list, but you surely agree that some of them such as ginger or chamomile are better known. These herbs can be used fresh or dried.

Moreover, you can easily propagate and grow many of them in your home garden or pots. Below, we will mention some examples of the most popular and widely used medicinal herbs in Iran and the world.

Jujube

Jujube is one of the famous medicinal herbs and is native to Western and Central Asia. There are three types of jujube trees in the world, two of which are called Halagunus and Hypophar in Iran.

In comparison, the jujube tree is without thorns unlike Hypophar and has large fruits, wide leaves, and tall stature, which is why it is superior to its rival.

In a narration from the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (AS), it is stated that: “Jujube brings flesh, its bone brings bone, and its skin removes skin.”

Jujube has a natural cool and dry nature and is useful in the treatment of many diseases. Of course, in addition to medicinal uses, it is also used in the food, perfume, hygiene, and wood industries.
Medicinal properties of Jujube

Some of the most important medicinal properties of jujube are:

One of the most well-known effects of jujube is its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, which is why it is very useful for people with bone softness and fragility.
Jujube is rich in vitamin C and is a body’s immune system booster. This plant is very effective in treating cough, colds, flu, sore throat, and fever.
The use of jujube helps control diabetes and treat diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, cardiovascular diseases, and diarrhea.
This useful plant is a strong and natural diuretic and helps cleanse and detoxify the kidneys and liver. Through this purification, disorders such as kidney stones, liver swelling, and fatty liver will be treated.
The antioxidants and vitamin C present in jujube increase skin collagen and its freshness and radiance.
Cooked jujube in olive tree leaf oil is also a pain reliever for joints and itching and enhances hair growth.
Some other medicinal properties of jujube include: development and growth of fetal bones during pregnancy, treatment of hiccups, reducing high blood pressure in pregnant women, eliminating poisons in the stomach and intestines, anti-stress, and weight loss.
